Most common problem of golf cart solenoid

A solenoid is the main electrical switch in the golf cart. It is designed to have the current from your battery flow properly into your golf cart’s motor.

After years of using and starting up your golf cart many times, the solenoid plate will wear down. When this happens, it creates a kind of resistance for the electrical current from your battery to easily flow into your golf cart’s motor.

This problem is avoidable by regularly inspecting the contact plate and replacing it as it wears down. Our maintenance program is able to do this for you on a regular basis.

A good solenoid will make a subtle clicking sound when your golf cart starts up. If you no longer hear this sound, it could be a sign your solenoid is going bad.Loose wires may also be a culprit with solenoids.
